UConn School of Dental Medicine

UConn School of Dental Medicine offers contemporary dental care, from general to specialized services, for all our patients. Our faculty, residents, students, and staff are here to provide you with the best and broadest range of dental treatment available in Connecticut.

We offer dental care at different cost levels to fit your budget. All of which are delivered with the same expertise and high-quality care expected at an academic medical center:

  • Faculty: Care is provided by experienced faculty dentists at a cost comparable with many private practices.
  • Residents: Care is provided by graduate dentists receiving advanced training. The cost of resident level care is approximately 50-60% of a private practice visit. Patients of the residency program can expect their visits to be longer than those with faculty.
  • Students: Care is provided by dental students under the supervision of faculty. The cost is approximately 30-40% of a private practice. These appointments will last 3-4 hours, as students are still training.

UConn Health accepts referrals from other private and community dental care providers.

These committees have oversight of policy change and implementation related to the quality of care delivery in our clinics.

Patient Care Will:

  • Be provided in a safe manner.
  • Progress in a timely manner.
  • Be efficient.
  • Be effective and evidence-based, including relevant scientific evidence, patient needs and preferences, and clinician’s expertise.
  • Be delivered equitably and not vary in quality because of personal characteristics.
  • Be patient-centered and respectful of and responsive to individual patient preferences, needs, and values.
