EpicCare® Link at UConn Health
Important Information Regarding Your Epic Portal
EpicCare Link at UConn Health is a secure web portal that offers referring providers easy access to information regarding their referred and admitted patients.
With no cost to access the portal, it's easy to set up, and there’s no software or hardware to maintain. Your EpicCare Link account also offers access to Epic’s In Basket, a secure patient-centered communication tool where you can connect directly with UConn Health Providers to ask questions or receive updates.
As your patients receive care from any of our locations, we’ll send you notifications and updates via email and In Basket, Epic's secure communication platform. Notifications will be sent weekly when new information is available. This will provide you with the information you need to plan your patients’ ongoing care, and they’ll feel better knowing you’re informed of all the care they receive.
Providers will receive notifications for:
- Narrative test results
- Hospital admissions
- Discharge summaries
- Recent visit summaries with our providers
- Lab results
- Consultation notes
- Orders placed by our physicians

Providers with EpicCare Link accounts can place lab orders to be completed at UConn Health from within Link. You can also view results and send result messages, creating a seamless care plan for your patients.

Long term care facility users can accept discharge placement requests from UConn Health case managers and communicate with case managers via Epic’s In Basket. This new workflow will eliminate the need for faxing patient information from UConn to facilities for discharge planning and placement.
