Ratings & Reviews

Ratings and comments are powered by NRC Health.

The Star Rating is an average of all responses about the patient’s experiences with and ratings of their health care providers. Patients are surveyed, either by mail or email, by Press Ganey, our third-party vendor administrator for our patient experience surveys. NRC calculates the patient’s ratings, reviews, and comments on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best score. Comments are submitted by patients and reflect their views and opinions.

Questions About Ratings & Reviews

  • Who receives the survey and what are the questions asked?

UConn Health patients are randomly invited to complete a mail or email survey to provide feedback about their health care experience. The survey questions ask the patient to evaluate how well their provider or care team communicated, listened, and showed courtesy and respect towards them and other related experience questions. The survey results evaluate patients’ overall perception of care and identify areas for improvement.

  • Are all comments posted online?

We post all comments, both positive and negative. We will not post comments that are libelous, slanderous, or profane, risk our patients’ privacy, or do not mention direct care received from the provider.

  • Why don’t I see any ratings or reviews for every provider?

The more ratings a provider receives, the greater the accuracy and reliability of the results. A provider’s rating will only be posted on the site providing the provider has a minimum of 30 completed surveys. Star ratings are only displayed for providers for the past 24 months.

  • How is patient information protected?

Patient names are not displayed through the online ratings and reviews. Personally identifiable information is removed before display.
